ESHA DEOL daughter of Hema Malini. Hema Malini is making a last ditch attempt to revive daughter Esha’s career with her next production, Tell Me Oh Khuda. With not many directors willing to back Esha beti, mom Hema has taken it on herself to direct the film, which is said to bear shades of Dil Aashna Hai— a dud that marked Hema’s directorial debut in 1993. Despite trying everything from bikinis to on-screen kissing, Esha has never been a patch on the original Dream Girl.
FARDEEN KHAN son of Feroze Khan. Dad Feroze was known as much for his blockbuster entertainers as his flamboyant lifestyle. He broke Bollywood’s typical goodygoody image in both areas. Son Fardeen has cut a lame picture in comparison. Right now, Fardeen has no film in hand and his repeated attempts at reviving Feroze’s banner FK International has failed so far.
SHAMITA SHETTY sister of Shilpa Shetty Bollywood superstardom may have eluded Shilpa but she worked cleverly to become a brand name, cashing in on her 2007 win in the UK reality show Celebrity Big Brotherand her status as the co-owner of the IPL team, Rajasthan Royals. Shamita on the other hand started with Aditya Chopra’s multistarrer hit, Mohabbatein, in 2000 but could not carry on with the good show. Most people felt Shamita tried too hard to ape Shilpa’s sultry sex appeal.
TUSSHAR KAPOOR son of Jeetendra. Tusshar has mostly been surviving on offers coming from his home banner Balaji Films, which is run by sister Ekta Kapoor, besides the Golmaalflicks. His latest, the Ekta-produced Shor In The Citymay have won critical acclaim, but the film hasn’t revived his career. The success of dad Jeetendra, who ruled in the eighties and starred in Hindi films for over three decades, hasn’t clearly rubbed off on Tusshar.
UDAY CHOPRA son of Yash Chopra. Yash Chopra is a living legend, heading Bollywood's most powerful production house, Yash Raj Films (YRF). Uday on the other hand chose to be an actor but his career never took off despite repeated attempts to relaunch him with high-profile YRFproduced flicks. In 2010, Uday tried scriptwriting with the YRF-produced dud Pyaar Impossible, a film where he starred with Priyanka Chopra.
